j. kelly gibbs BSN, RN

Kelly has over a decade of medical experience, ranging from critical care medicine to post operative care. She has received advanced certification through the Duet Injector Training Program from Allergan, the makers of Botox and Juvederm.  In addition, Kelly has received certification from the prestigious Aesthetic Advancements Inc.  and has trained extensively under several of North Carolina’s most well known laser and injectable practices.  Kelly brings the gift of warmth, compassion and respect to each person she comes in contact with.   She believes aging is wonderful and her greatest reward is creating a natural and healthy balance between the way you look and the way you feel.  Kelly’s passion lies within both laser therapies and injectables; she understands the industry is continually changing, and is devoted to challenging herself to remain at the forefront of technology.   Kelly is a standing member of the Society of Plastic Surgery Skincare Specialist. Kelly is also a RYT-500 Yoga Instructor and has extensive knowledge in the benefits of yoga as a way of life.  Kelly has made it a priority to give back by using her medical skills on a recent mission trip to Haiti.   She is happily married to her Veterinarian husband, Dr. Scotty Gibbs, and together they have two wonderful children. 


emily horwitz BSN, RN

Emily grew up in Baltimore, where she earned a BA in Exercise Physiology/Pre-Physical Therapy and a BSN in Nursing.  Upon graduating from nursing school Emily moved to Raleigh where she worked for several years as a Pediatric Nurse at Duke University Medical Center.  Feeling the need to expand within her career she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she worked with one of the West Coast’s top training programs becoming a Certified Yoga Instructor specializing in nutrition and holistic healing. Since returning to Raleigh and joining Synergy, Emily has worked diligently as the Quality and Safety Manager creating all Medical Aesthetics Safety Protocols and is the educational liaison for the Synergy Team, ensuring that all staff is knowledgeable about the continually changing industry. She is an elite member of the Society of Plastic Surgery Skincare Specialists.  She has also completed an extensive preceptorship under one of North Carolina’s top injectable practices. Emily received extensive training in injectables from Allergan, the makers of Botox and Juvederm and has received advanced clinical training in the safe and effective use of various laser therapies. As a nurse at Synergy, Emily’s philosophy is that it about the relationships she gets to establish with each client, achieving gorgeous results, and helping every individual feel truly beautiful on the inside and on the outside.

dr. stewart collins

Dr. Stewart Collins is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  He graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He holds a Master of Science degree from N. C. State University and a medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine.  Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Collins went on to train in General Surgery at the University of Virginia. While attending UVA, he became fascinated with the ability to affect someone's self image through surgery. He went on to complete a full plastic surgery fellowship at the Sutherland Institute at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. Upon the completion of over 14 years of school and training, Dr. Collins moved back to his hometown of Raleigh, NC where he began his own private practice located in Cary.  He holds surgical privileges at all four Raleigh area hospitals.  Dr. Collins has a special interest in aesthetic surgery for facial aging and surgery to improve body contouring after extreme weight loss. Dr. Collins and his wife reside in Cary with their four children.  He enjoys spending his spare time with his family, attending his kids’ ball games and working out at the YMCA.  He has taken medical mission trips to Kenya and works during the summer at Camp Sea Gull as a Camp Doctor.

Synergy Spa & Aesthetics has a team of over 6 full time aestheticians, all of whom work under the direction of both our medical director and resident nurse.  Our owner, Anna Churchill, has over 21 years Medical Aesthetics experience and personally trains and oversees each of our aestheticians; both she and her talented team are committed to providing the highest standard of patient care.   Synergy’s aesthetics department undergoes continuous training in the latest advances in Spa and Medical Aesthetic treatments in order to provide you with consistently amazing results.
