While the device is important for the effectiveness of the microneedling treatment, the other factor to note is the depth of the treatment. In order to receive maximum results, deeper treatments that go beyond a 1.0 depth are required, and for the comfort factor of the patient a topical numbing agent will be applied. Unless microneedling is performed at a medical-grade level with a topical numbing agent, results can not be guaranteed.
