How PDO Threads Work
A thread lift works by using hypodermic needles preloaded with a synthetic PDO (polydioxanone) absorbable suture. PDO sutures are FDA-approved and have been used for years. PDO threads are one of the safest materials that can be used in the body. The threads are carefully inserted through small strategic incisions using a cannula. Once the excess threads are cut off, the PDO threads act as anchors as the skin is lifted from within to create a youthful appearance.
Benefits of PDO Threads
PDO thread lift does not require the cost or downtime of an invasive surgery and the body completely absorbs the PDO and does not create scar tissue. Once in place, the PDO threads work to stimulate the production of your skin’s natural collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to maintain a firm, youthful appearance over a period of time. Thread lifts are effective on their own, but they can also be an excellent complement to other anti-aging treatments such as Botox and Dermal Fillers.
Boost Results Over Time
Your results will continue to improve over the next 3-6 months as your body produces more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to maintain a smooth, natural facial shape.

Get any dental work that you are unable to post-pone out of the way. It is generally recommended that patients who require dental work following their thread lift wait at least two weeks. Other than that, thread lifts do not require preparation other than your initial consultation.
The thread lift is one of few facelift procedures which can either be easily tightened or removed completely. Most clients are satisfied with their results, but in the unlikely event the threads are removed, your face will return to its pre-op appearance.
Local anesthetic will be applied to the treated area, so you will be comfortable throughout your face thread lift. Your doctor will then use a cannula to insert the PDO threads into the appropriate layer of skin. Some discomfort or swelling may occur but will subside within a couple days.
