Sofwave’s unique Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology SUPERB™ protects the skin surface with a proprietary cooling mechanism, Sofcool™, and the treatment is effective and safe. There is minimal downtime, and you can resume your daily activities quickly.
As the ultrasound energy is delivered, patients may feel warmness of the skin. In addition, discomfort can be managed by applying a topical anesthetic cream 45 mins. before the treatment. Following treatment, there are no sensations and there is no need to apply special care to the skin unless a physician recommends. Patient may resume their daily care immediately post treatment.
Sofwave™ treatments are safe for all skin types and is primarily performed on the face and neck. You should consult with your practitioner regarding the treatment options that are best for you.
Immediate results can be seen as soon as 1-week following the treatment. However, the collagen regeneration process can sometimes take up to 12
weeks, so patients are expected to see ongoing improvements in the 3-month period after their treatment. You may see immediate firming results right after treatment, but the full effect of improvement is achieved several months after treatment as collagen in the skin continues to rebuild. We recommend a maintenance treatment once a year for optimal results.
No special skin care regimen is required following treatment. However, you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a good sunscreen. Your practitioner can also recommend a home skin care regimen if desired.
The discomfort associated with this treatment is well-tolerated. Sofwave™ technology is integrated with Sofcool™ cooling mechanism so it is a very comfortable treatment. Numbing cream will be applied at the beginning of treatment as well.
